On 16 October 2024, the Commission announced that the online social networking service of X is not a core platform service under the Digital Markets Act (DMA). According to the press release, X did not quality as a gatekeeper since “the investigation revealed that X is not an important gateway for business users to reach end users.” The decision has not yet been published at the time of writing (28 October 2024).
