Swedish DPA Sends Questionnaire to 20 Organisations About the Right to Erasure

The Swedish Authority for Privacy Protection (IMY) is sending a questionnaire to 20 large organizations in both the public and private sectors to examine how they handle personal data deletion requests. This is part of a Europe-wide initiative led by the European Data Protection Board, involving 32 data protection supervisory authorities.

IMY has deliberately selected larger organizations, as these are expected to receive a high number of deletion requests and are likely to have well-developed processes for managing them. The goal is to identify good examples that can serve as guidance for other organizations handling the right to erasure.

The findings will contribute to improving guidance on managing deletion rights and will be included in both a national report later this year and a joint European report early next year.
